formed the Lowell Female Labor Union Reform Organization. This organization was lead by Sarah J. Bagley a weaver in a factory. Sarah and her fellow petitioners preached the state legislature about women getting unfair treatment from factory and mill owners. Since, the petition was mostly signed by women, the legislature turned it down. Most of the early efforts of woman wanting to get equality and justice failed, they however, corrected the injustices around the year 1920.
