Debt is one of the largest problems facing poor countries. The poorest countries in the world are in debt to the world's richest countries. The huge debt repayments are making it hard for these countries to develop. Ghana is one of these poor countries.

Many richer countries have realised that these poor countries are never going to get out of debt and develop. These countries are putting pressure on their governments to drop the debts. Britain has already dropped all the debts being owed to them. This pressure group is called Drop The Debt. Ghana has already had part of it's debt cancelled. In return for this they have promised to use the money to help the poorest countries.
