The island of La Palma is in a privileged situation if we consider it as a whole. The conference, organised by the Island Cabildo, attracted large numbers of the local population and enabled the authorities to disseminate the objectives and how these were to be achieved, and to start informing the general public and involving them in the management of the serious problem of waste that the island has.
