Bosnia, like Vietnam, serves purpose
There was one development from the eight years of heavy U.S. involvement in Vietnam that made a big difference in the world -- but isn't talked about. Let me challenge that with a little dose of not being politically correct. ... We won in Vietnam where the Soviets lost everywhere else -- especially in Afghanistan. And our world today is again being secured by that global U.S. military leadership.

the U.S. Vietnam experience. Yes, we lost Vietnam. But the reasons for that were political, tactical, and, over all, based on reasons that had nothing to do with the ability of the United States to deploy a massive army with full navy and air force half a world away. We could do it and the Soviets couldn't even do it with total warfare (something we never did in Vietnam!) right on their own border.
