In this assignment, I will be discussing the narrator of the tale by Edgar Alan Poe, "Tell-Tale Heart". I will be talking about his personality, his motivation, his relationships, his conflicts and his changes from throughout the tale.

the old man. When this doesn't resolve the problem (his paranoia), he confesses, thinking the policemen are hearing the heartbeat also and mocking him. His character is unchanging throughout the story since he's always mad.
In conclusion, I think the narrator is indeed a madman, even though he repetitively tells us that he isn't. His actions throughout this tale, described above, prove him wrong. He is crazy although the story and convinces us about it.
