But whoever had lived in colonial America at this certain time period would agree that all three regions shared common institutions and philosophies; everyone was there for the same reason. They all wanted some sort of democratic rule and an acceptance of religion. It is ironic how, today, people come to America for the same reasons. Even in present day America, the institutions and philosophies are similar in every region.
