David fought with vigor and ferocity, taking his enemy down with swiftness and power. These qualities gained David recognition and honor throughout the land. They also sparked Saul's unrelenting jealousy. Therefore, in everything David did he was in constant watch for Saul, an ominous terror bent on killing him.
