The book "Siddhartha" subtly conveys a lot of subtle messages. In the following paper I seek to analyze the book in depth and simultaneously do a thorough character analysis of Siddhartha. An important moral that Hesse is trying to convey to us is that only through sacrifice will someone acquire what they are looking for. Siddhartha sacrificed his family his worldly goods, Kamala the one girl he truly loved, sacrificed the teachings of the great Buddha but finally took shelter in the river and its experience where he found Nirvana. He finds his Inner Self and inner peace.
