The assessment that I will be focusing on is the first phase of the nursing process in the form of the initial assessment interview. The patient involved in the assessment is a 28 year old male who was admitted to a medical ward after an over dose. For future reference, I will remember that this phase of the nursing process is to enquire in relation to the needs of the client. It is therefore intrinsic, to consider all aspects of interpersonal skills communication and environmental factors in order to transmit the correct messages to the client.
