Throughout the movie, The Sixth Sense, I found two of many psychological factors. Depression: a psychological disorder characterized by extreme sadness, and inability to concentrate, and feelings of helplessness and dejection. Overall I think this movie can help some psychologists think of the possibilities and not assume something so common. For instance, when Malcom first met Cole, he right away assumed he had a mood disorder or schizophrenia.
