The book is not as terrifying as it was because when it was written there was a large fear of the unknown about cloning and the recreation of life, but now there is a certain knowledge of the effects of cloning. This is due to successful scientific projects such as 'Dolly' the Sheep. Overall I believe that Frankenstein will still be relevant for many years but slowly will lose it's terror factor
