Other prisoners forgot about helping others survive, and instead dwelled on their ideas of how they would survive. Finally, many just wished for their lives to end so they could be freed from the great deal of pain and suffering that they had to undergo during the Holocaust. For many of these emotionally and physically battered individuals, their wish came true.
