And even better, we could send a manned craft to Proxima Centauri, the closest star to our solar system, in about 25 years. Although twenty-five years seems like a long time, with current rocket fuel technology it would take us about thirty thousand years to reach Proxima Centauri. Nuclear fusion would open up our solar to the common man. The discovery of fusion power would mark the beginning of a new era for all of mankind.
