From 1781-89, the articles of confederation lead the American people through thick and thin. In the end, it proved to be ineffective government despite the many victories it had accomplished during its time.

Articles of Confederation was a failure despite the many things it helped accomplish. Its inability to deal with foreign affairs and people was its death knell. Some states wanted to keep the Articles and thought it only needed some repair but in the end, the delegates in Philadelphia saw that Rhode Island would not agree on any of the changes and decided to scrap the entire thing thus leading to the creation of the Constitution.
