Lower Eastside Tenement Museum The Lower Eastside Tenement Museum allowed me to experience the everyday hardships and difficulties that the people that lived there faced. Through the years of 1863 - 1935 the tenements housed thousands of people. Even though the conditions in the tenement were not very good, at many times the apartments were overcrowded.
