Sydney Harbour Bridge
The idea for The Sydney Harbour Bridge came as early as 1815 although it wasn't until 1922 that the bridge was commissioned to be built. This was during the Great Depression. It provided work for approximately 1400 men. It took eight years, six million hand driven rivets and 5,300 tonnes of steel to construct the bridge.

Garden Island should be preserved not only because it played a major role in Australia's defences in WW2 but it also helped in defences of other nations. Tourism could prove a good source of economy to fund the island for future projects like educational resources and even small commercial businesses that want to continue the tradition of boat repairs on the island, hopefully at a smaller scale.
