While this doesn't mean that every now and then his id wouldn't take control, because it obviously did sometimes, it does mean that he would be a strong person. Chris would do things wrong and try to correct them, he would be brought down by society, and he would become a moral and outstanding person. All of this is evidence of his superego working inside of him.
