Even though the first three quatrains is talking about the death, the poem is ended with a happy ending. As an old man in the first three quatrains, he talks nothing but his death. At the end in the caplet, he gives a new insight how he views his death. His desired to be loved by his friends has changed his view about death from negative side to positive side by relating it with love.
