At the same time as the rest of Europe was advancing culturally as a direct result of the Renaissance period, Russia did not collect the same benefits of cultural development and growth. Presence of Mongol Yoke in Russia was directly responsible for the disproportionate growth. Due to ongoing Tatar suppression, Russian people were not able to prosper culturally and enjoy economic freedom to the extent other European countries experienced.

In summary, in my opinion Mongol Yoke completely isolated Rus' from her Western neighbors, as well as paralyzed Russian culture and slowed down it development. The impact of their invasion is seen not only as destructive of Russian society but also as detrimental to the development of the Russians themselves. I strongly believe that Kievan Rus' helped to suppress Mongol invasion on other countries and as a result only Russia suffered their huge blow.
