Luca Della Robbia was born in the year of 1388 in Florence, Italy. He was raised like all children. He was taught to read and write. He was also going to learn the goldsmiths art. Luca began to learn to model and design in wax. As he got better, he started making small things out of marble and bronze. from 1435 to 1525. His son, Giovanni Della Robbia lived from 1469 to 1529. Luca Della Robbia was working on sculptures his whole life, and right before his death he had been working on making scenes and painting figures on flat surfaces. Luca had two brothers named Ottaviano and Agostino. Agostino had a son which he name Luca also after his passed away brother. Agostino then decided to follow in his brother, Luca's footsteps and start an art career.
