Life and success of Herodotus
Herodotus was the first Greek historian, known as the "Father of History." He was born in the year 484 B.C. in Halicarnassus, Asia Minor. During his youth, he traveled Greece, the Middle East, and North Africa. During his travels, he studied the manners, customs, and religions of the people and learned as much as he could of their history.
