thoughtout the entire novel. Throughout this scene, Ralph Ellison shows the Invisible Man's growth from his original character to a man with a new identity. The narrator has finally learned to appriciate his feelings as well as be proud of his heritage. The Invisible Man has finally came to the realization that it is important to please himself and no one else. The Invisible Man has won the ultimate war - the war within himself.
