Impaired Driving: What good can come of it? Last year (2002), in the U.S., over 17, 000 people died in alcohol related motor vehicle accidents. The year before, approximately 1.5 million drivers were arrested for being under the influence of either alcohol or drugs. These facts are disturbing, yet people still get into their vehicle impaired. Impaired driving is considered a serious crime in every province. In conclusion, I believe that if MADD, OSAID and programs like them continue to show there videos on impaired driving, more and more people will be reached and it will change the way they think about impaired driving. Hopefully the next time they go to a party where there will be drinks served, they'll think twice about getting into a car with someone who is impaired.
