It holds extensive data on criminals, vehicles and property, which is accessible in a matter of seconds, through more than 10,000 terminals across the country. It is also noted that the PNC has an error rate of approximately 85%. I believe that this is not acceptable as the information it provides may be misleading and inaccurate. The data needs to be updated to effectively aid the police in their job. By providing photographs of people on the database would also help the police identify possible suspects.
