Destruction of the social elite happened due to military loss as opposed to Nazism, which if anything strengthened their position as the unshiftable hierarchy of Germany. It was the lack of alternative that forced many people into a passive role in nazi Germany, as the propaganda band wagon moved along many people merely followed to see what rewards could be reaped, not because they believed in it(true of the Workers).
