a certain effect and he achieved his goal. If he would of written this poem in a different style, perhaps just two lines or one continuous line he would not have gotten the effect of random thoughts by the farmer. Also if he did this, his whole structure would of changed and he would have had to really change the whole poem around to get the contradiction effect that I think he was aiming for.
