in beliefs it became easier for people to become accepting of one another, though it would take years and centuries for real prejudice to be gone from normal living. However, I personally believe this was the very beginning of the initial civil rights movement. It brought different types of people together and they were able to stand each other. True, they were all white, but it was civil rights in acceptance for the time period.
