Ender Wiggin, despite being an independent thinker, was influenced greatly thoughout the course of the book Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. Some of the factors that persuaded Ender were Valentine, Peter, Mazer Rackham, the Buggers, and even the "battle school" itself. In conclusion, the Buggers themselves taught Ender how to be intelligent enough to defeat them. Whereas Valentine showed Ender how to be not only compassionate enough to understand them, but enough to defeat them. Having these abilities Ender defeated the Buggers, thus bringing an end to Ender's Game.
