One of the great things about America is that we are supposed to have a class-less society. Some countries have a class structure that is impossible to break. If you are born poor, you will die poor. Overall, I think that race is playing less of a role in determining social class. Furthermore, economics is driven by popular culture. Popular culture being what big business wants to market to the masses. As long as the lower and middle classes continue to live beyond their means, they will never break into the upper echelon of the truly wealthy.
