Jabirs major pracitcal achievement was the discovery of minerals and acids, which he prepared for the first time in his alembic (Anbique). His invention of the atembic made the distillation process easy and systematic (Thomas Arnold, The Legacy of Islam). The Islamic Civilization invented, discovered, and contributed many more ideas than I discussed. They are well over looked by many people for the wonderful contributions they made to the world.
