The Cold War was the term used to describe the intense rivalry that developed after World War II between groups of Communist and non Communist nations. It was called the cold war because it did not really result in fighting.

as well, and thirdly if the United States of America would like to be know as the undisputed leader of the free world again they have to make foreign policy an issue worthy of debate in arenas that serve the public interest. Thus with the public opinion being taken seriously the trade embargo will become an issue that is taken much more seriously and the president will have to make amendments to the embargo act.
