The Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 was the first significant law limiting immigrants from
entering America. This Act stayed in law intil 1943 however, many other laws were created in order to
calm down worker demands and maintain peace among laborers. This shows that any law will be
created to ease the pain of Americans even if it costs to hurt immigrants. But if America was built on
immigrants, who are we really hurting?
