Abuse has been in the daily lives of many people in many different cultures since the dawn of time. Whether it is verbal, mental or physical abuse, it's around all of us, but it is up to us as individuals to recognize it.

in our society, she regards her parents with respect. It is a far shot in say that she "loves" them, however, she must have learned to regard them with a certain esteem be it negative or not.
Therefore, my feelings for Holly's predicament would not help her situation because I would be more emotional and probably would think of the things that were done to her instead of what I could do to help her.
