Joseph was constantly looking for a solution on his own, never thinking that there may be a power greater than this own that could help him. Sadly, the novel ended with Joseph never having solved his trial, which made for a very meaningless conclusion. This represents how important it is for us Christians to make sure that non-believers have heard the message and know of Jesus before they pass away.
