Being a soon to be father I feel I am obligated to agree with neither of the two positions. However, if asked this question several months ago, before I found out my news, I would have a different response than the one I now have towards abortion. If asked before the discovery of my future baby, I would have agreed with the position of ones right to privacy. This is simply the stance that one

Since no side's insights can really be deemed to be the correct path to follow in such a questionable situation then an agreement must be met between the two which allows both sides to follow whichever path they choose to. So, simply put I believe that viability was such an important part of the case because it alleviated pressure on both sides instead of forcing the court to favor one particular party of the debate.
