Not Hester or Dimmesdale, but Chillengworth, simply because he was a weak person and wouldn't stand by his wife. And then, after finding out what she'd done, immediately setting out on a quest to destroy the mans life who was responsible, was yet another sign of his weakness. Chillengworth was not the best character of this story, but he sure kept it interesting, that's for sure.
